Diva's Dilemma: Why we started

Did you know that the overall percentage of female drivers rose from 4% in 1972 to 49% in 1996, while the overall percentage of male drivers decreased from 56% to 51%. (Source: U.S. Department of Transportation)

Diva's are driving more. Statistics Canada reports that Women's employment in the Canadian labour force rose from 45.0% to 46.8% during the 1991 - 2001 decade. And those women are not only driving to and from work - but they still have to head out for groceries, take the children to day care and sports events and run errands.

And according to Road and Travel Magazine 65% of women take their own vehicles to a repair shop for service. Some repair industry experts estimate that the average may actually be closer to 80%.

Those statistics are over ten years old! We know that more women are making the decisions about car repairs, purchases and are most likely to be the member of the family that takes the car into the shop - whether for repairs or maintenance. In fact statistics show that women are doing more and more driving. If women are more likely to visit the "shop" than men - then maybe it is time to make it a more comfortable space for her to be in.

The Driving Diva's dilemma was that there were no shops around where a gal could feel comfortable. (And we don't mean that they want the shop to have frilly curtains or fancy trimmings) They wanted a place where a they could stop by to get an oil change or drop the car of for a repair and not worry about getting mucked up doing it. In fact - if mom came in with the children she did not have to worry about them getting dirty or greasy. And so here
at Ladies Choice Auto Care we have decided that girls rule!

We want you to feel comfortable and at ease in our waiting rooms. Come in your heels with a briefcase or in sneakers with the kids. Either way - you should feel at ease at Ladies Choice Auto Care.
